Check the drives and make sure they are showing in the my computer area. Check the USB and plug the drive in again. If it is a tower then just reboot. I get this and I just pull the power cord off and put it back on. But I have a lap top.

If the CDs are burned they may be burned in a way that the players don’t recognize. Or if you have an older computer your drive might just be worn out.

if you have recently opened yur box or pulled your cd-rom out or something like that you may have disconnected the IDE cable ( flat cable) at the back, you just need to plug it back in and thats all. If that is not the case, most likely either of the following has occured:
You have somehow deleted the drives OR
You are playing an incompatible/faulty CD.

To rectify that IF your cdrom came with a diskette or somewhat, then run that diskette to resolve the problem. ALSO try another cd to play, like an actual bought one from a store.

If none of the above work you can reformat your operating system by insering your OS ( windows xp for example) cd, reseting the comp, and re-installing everything.

Good Luck.
